CA Foundation: Your Entry into Chartered Accountancy
The Chartered Accountant Foundation Programme (CA Foundation) is the first level of the Chartered Accountancy course in India, conducted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). - The CA Foundation curriculum is divided into four core papers, designed to build a multi-dimensional understanding of the business and financial world.
Subject Highlights
- Accounting: Covers foundational principles, bank reconciliation, depreciation, and the preparation of final accounts for partnerships and companies.
- Business Laws: Focuses on the Indian Contract Act, Sale of Goods Act, Partnership Act, and the Companies Act, 2013.
- Quantitative Aptitude: Includes Business Mathematics (Time Value of Money, Ratios), Logical Reasoning (Seating Arrangements, Blood Relations), and Statistics.
- Business Economics: Covers micro/macroeconomics, market structures, and national income determination.
Eligibility & Registration
- Eligibility: Students can register provisionally after passing Class 10, but they must pass Class 12 to appear for the Foundation exam.
- Exemptions: Commerce graduates with 55% or other graduates with 60% marks can skip this level and enter directly into the CA Intermediate course.
- Passing Criteria: You must score at least 40% in each paper and a minimum 50% aggregate across all four papers to pass.
