Course Structure (New Scheme 2026)

• The CA Intermediate exam consists of six papers divided into two groups. Each paper is worth 100 marks, totaling 600 marks for the entire level.

Eligibility & Entry Routes

• Foundation Route: Successfully clearing the CA Foundation exam.
• Direct Entry Route: This pathway allows eligible candidates to bypass the Foundation level:
  - Graduates/Post-Graduates: Minimum 55% for Commerce and 60% for non-Commerce streams.
  - Professional Exam Passers: Candidates who have cleared the Intermediate level of CS (ICSI) or CMA (ICAI).
• Candidates must complete a mandatory 8-month study period from the date of registration before they are eligible to appear for the examination.

Passing Criteria

• Per Paper: Minimum 40% marks in each of the six papers.
• Per Group: Minimum 50% aggregate marks in each group (e.g., 150 out of 300).
• Exemption Rule: If a student fails a group but scores 60 or more marks in a specific paper, they are granted a permanent exemption for that paper in future attempts.
